CHILDREN'S DAY
14 NOVEMBER
Every year 14th November is celebrated as Children's Day to pay tribute to our former Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, for his contribution to building the nation. It is a day celebrating the spirit of childhood.
Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14th November 1889. He was the first Prime Minister of India and was a supporter of children's education in the country. He was popularly called Chacha Nehru amongst kids.
Till his death India celebrated Universal Children's Day on 20th November. 14th November became the official date in 1964.
